Gemini in the Ancient Zodiac

Gemini is the tenth constellation of the zodiac and is the second Sign in the Zodiac Unit focusing on the return of the Redeemer and his complete victory.  Gemini is a sign of two people, usually (but not always) men who are twins. Gemini is Latin for twins. In fact, even if we connect the stars in ‘Gemini’ with lines it is still hard to ‘see’ twins.  Two individuals can be seen, but how did people come up with ‘twins’ from this?

Even though the stars that form Gemini are joined with lines in this diagram made to show us the zodiac constellations, it is still hard to ‘see’ a
definite set of twins. But Gemini goes back as far as we know in human history.

Castor & Pollux long ago

It is referenced in the Injil when Paul and his companions were traveling to Rome by ship and they noted

After three months we put out to sea in a ship that had wintered in the island—it was an Alexandrian ship with the figurehead of the twin gods Castor and Pollux. (Acts 28:11)

Castor and Pollux are the traditional names of the two twins of Gemini.  This shows the idea of divine twins was common around 2000 years ago.

As with all the other zodiac constellations, the image of two twins is not obvious from the constellation itself. It is not innate within the star constellation. Rather, the pair have been thought of beforehand, from something other than the stars, and then in astrology it has been superimposed into the constellation as an image. But why? What did it mean to the ancients?

In the ancient Dendera zodiac, one of the two people is a woman.  Instead of two male twins this zodiac shows a man and woman couple as Gemini.

Why has Gemini from ancient times been associated with a pair of two – but not necessarily male twins.

Gemini in the Ancient Story

We saw with Virgo that the Quran and the Bible/Kitab state that the constellations themselves were made by Allah. They were given as signs in a Story to guide mankind until revelation was put in writing. Thus they were taught by Adam and his sons to their children to instruct them of Allah’s Plan. Virgo foretold the coming Son of the Virgin -the Prophet Isa al Masih PBUH. We worked our way through the Story explaining how the Great Conflict focused on ‘striking the heel’ of the Seed of the Virgin,

Gemini continues this story.  So even if you are ‘not’ a Gemini in the modern horoscope sense, the ancient astrological story in the stars of Gemini is worth knowing.

Original Meaning of Gemini

It is in the names of the stars of Gemini that we can understand the original meaning, which has been clouded by the Greek and Roman pagan myths now associated with Gemini.

Medieval arabic astrologers gave names to the constellation stars that they got from ancient times. The star ‘Castor’ is named in arabic Al-Ras al-Taum al-Muqadim or “The Head of the Foremost Twin”. Prominent in Castor is the star Tejat Posterior, meaning “the back foot,” referring to Castor’s foot. It is also sometimes known by Calx which means “the heel.” Another prominent star, Epsilon Geminorum has the traditional name, Mebsuta, comes from the ancient Arabic Mabsūṭah, which means “the outstretched paw.” In Arabic culture, Epsilon Geminorum represented the paws of a lion.

Pollux is known as “The Head of the Second Twin,” from the Arabic Al-Ras al-Tau’am al-Mu’akhar. The idea of al-Taum (twin) is not so much of the idea of two brought forth at the same birth, as of something completed or joined. The same Hebrew idea is expressed in Taurat where it says of two boards in the chest of the ark of the covenant that

At these two corners they must be double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both shall be like that.

Exodus 26:24

As the two boards join with each other in the box of the ark, so the two in Gemini are brought together, not by time of birth, but by a joining. Since Castor is identified by stars with ‘heel’ and ‘paw of lion’ (Leo) which are prominent prophetic attributes of Isa al Masih PBUH, both in the Zodiac and in the prophetic writings then Castor is the astrological picture of Isa al Masih at his final return. So who is the one joined to him?

Gemini – Firstborn & Adopted Brothers

The Injil explains of Isa al Masih PBUH that

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Colossians 1:15

‘Firstborn’ implies that others will come later. This is confirmed.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Romans 8:29

This picture goes back to creation. When God created Adam & Eve He created them

So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27

Adam and Eve were created in an essential spiritual likeness of God. Thus Adam is called

… Adam, the son of God

Luke 3:38

But when Adam & Eve disobeyed God this likeness was marred so that our sonship was destroyed. But when Isa al Masih came as the ‘firstborn son’ (see here what ‘son’ means) the image was restored in him and so now through Isa al Masih…

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

John 1:12-13

The gift offered to us is to have the right ‘to become children of God’. We were not born children of God but through Isa al Masih we can obtain it through:

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Galatians 4:4

This was the Libra horoscope hour reading. Now through Isa al Masih we can be adopted as children of God. This is done through the gift of Isa al Masih, the firstborn.

Upon his return Isa al Masih will reign as King (see meaning of Masih). The Bible closes with this promise of the role of the adopted younger brother of the Firstborn.

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 22:5

This is almost the last sentence in the Bible, when it looks to the fulfillment of all things. There it sees the adopted brothers of the Firstborn reigning with him. This was pictured to the ancients long ago in Gemini with the Foremost and the Second brothers ruling in heaven.

Gemini – The man & woman united

The prophets also often used the image of a man and woman uniting at a wedding to picture the relationship between the Masih and those who belong to him. In fact the details of Eve’s creation & marriage to Adam on Friday of Creation week was purposefully enacted to foreshadow how the Masih would gain his bride. This was also pictured in the great love story of Ruth & Boaz. The Injil concludes with this wedding picture between the Lamb (Aries) and his bride.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Revelation 19:7

This invitation is given in the closing chapter as it looks to the cosmic union of the Lamb and his bride

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Revelation 22: 17

Aquarius – water-bearer – will marry and he is inviting us to be that Bride. This was pictured long ago with Gemini – the cosmic union of the Lamb and His Bride.

Your Gemini Horoscope Reading from the Ancient Zodiac

Horoscope comes from the Greek ‘Horo’ (hour) and means the marking (skopus) of special hours.  The Gemini hour (horo) was marked by the Prophet Isa al Masih in his story of the Great Banquet.

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour (horo).

At the hour (horo) of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’

Luke 14:7

The Gemini horoscope hour has two stages. Isa al Masih taught there is a definite but unkown hour when the wedding happens and many will miss out on it. This is the point of the parable of the 10 virgins pledged for the wedding. Some were not ready for the appointed hour. But now the hour is open and the invitations to the wedding banquet are now being sent out to all.  This is the hour we live in now.  We just need to come because he has done the work to prepare the banquet.

Gemini declares that the invitation to your most important relationship is still open. You are invited into the only relationship that the stars say will eclipse all other pursuits – adoption into the cosmic royal family as well as a kind of celestial marriage – one that will never perish, spoil or fade. But this bridegroom will not wait around for ever. Therefore with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when this Bridegroom is revealed at his coming. As an obedient child of your celestial Father, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance of this destiny. Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. Rid yourself of all traits like malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is greatly admired by the coming Bridegroom. Finally, be sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble to those around you. These characteristics shown to those around you show your compatibility to your destiny – for those around you are also invited to the same royal birthright and wedding.

Taurus in the Ancient Zodiac

But Taurus is an image of a powerful charging bull with fierce horns. Where did the Bull come from and what does it mean?

In the ancient Zodiac, Taurus is the ninth of twelve astrology constellations that together form a Great Story. Virgo to Sagittarius formed an astrological unit that concerned the person of a Great Redeemer and his mortal conflict with His Enemy. Capricorn to Aries formed a second astrological which focused on the work of this Redeemer as it affects us. Taurus opens the third and final astrological unit – focusing on the Return of the Redeemer and his Complete Victory.  This unit opens with a Bull and closes with a Lion (Leo) so we know it will address power and might.

In the ancient Zodiac, Taurus was for all people since it predicts events that will affect everyone.  So even if you are not a Taurus in the modern horoscope sense, the ancient astrology story embedded in the stars of Taurus is worth understanding.

The astrological image of Taurus shows the Bull with prominent horns, head lowered, charging. It is as if the Bull is shown in intense rage – ready to gore anyone in its path, dashing forward with swift and boundless energy.

Circled in red is the star group known as the Pleiades (or Seven Sisters) in the middle of the neck of Taurus. The earliest direct reference to the Pleiades comes from the Book of Job in the Bible. Hazrat Job lived around the time of Ibrahim, about 4000 years ago. There we read:

He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.

Job 9:9

The constellations, including the Pleiades (and so also Taurus) were made by the Creator himself. Originally the zodiac was His story given to the ancients before revelation was put into writing. We saw that the central theme of this Story was the coming (Virgo – from the Virgin) and work of Isa al Masih PBUH. Taurus continues the story, but what does the Bull mean? The horns of Taurus and the predictions in the Zabur are the keys to understand. The Masih had to come from the line of David (The title ‘Masih’ = ‘Anointed one’ = ‘Christ’). Among the different images used to describe the coming Masih was that of ‘horn’.

“Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one.

Psalm 132:17

You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me.

Psalm 92:10

The image of ‘horn’ represented power and might. The Anointed One (Masih) was a horn of David. But in his First Coming he did not display his horn because he came as a Servant. But read now what his Second Coming will be like according to the ancient prophets.

Come near, you nations, and listen;
    pay attention, you peoples!
Let the earth hear, and all that is in it,
    the world, and all that comes out of it!
The Lord is angry with all nations;
    his wrath is on all their armies.
He will totally destroy them,
    he will give them over to slaughter.
Their slain will be thrown out,
    their dead bodies will stink;
    the mountains will be soaked with their blood.
All the stars in the sky will be dissolved
    and the heavens rolled up like a scroll;
all the starry host will fall
    like withered leaves from the vine,
    like shriveled figs from the fig tree.

My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
    see, it descends in judgment on Edom,
    the people I have totally destroyed.
The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood,
    it is covered with fat—
the blood of lambs and goats,
    fat from the kidneys of rams.
For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah
    and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
And the wild oxen will fall with them,
    the bull calves and the great bulls.
Their land will be drenched with blood,
    and the dust will be soaked with fat.
For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
    a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.

Isaiah 34:1-8

The dissolving of the stars is exactly what Isa al Masih said would be the Sign of his return. The prophet Isaiah (700 BC) is predicting the same event. It describes the hour of his coming forth to judge the world in righteousness. It is the prophecy of a coming Judge and of a coming Judgment. It is pictured in the heavens, and it is written in the Book.

Your Taurus Horoscope Reading from the Ancient Zodiac

Horoscope comes from the Greek ‘Horo’ (hour) and thus carries the meaning of marking special hours. The Prophetic writings mark the Taurus ‘horo’ this manner.

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

Revelation 14: 6-7

The Greek word for the hour of judgment is horo, the same as the root in ‘horoscope’.  The prophetic reading says that this hour will come and it is the hour that marks Taurus in the ancient astrological horoscope.

You and I can apply the Taurus horoscope reading today. 

Taurus tells us that the end will come with such a big bang that all the lights in the sky will go out.  Then there won’t even be any planets around to align with any star. So best to make good use of your time while the lights are still on. A good place to start is working on your humility trait because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. In other words, there is no compatibility between Him and pride in you. And by the sounds of it, you will be looking for alot of grace on that Day. A characteristic He will be testing for on that Day is whether you love him or not. How do you know if you love him? According to him, if you guard his commands then you love him. At the very least, guarding his commands would entail knowing them and doing them. Loving one another is a trait that He values highly. Of course his idea of what love is may be different than yours so you will want to know what he says real love is. His idea of love will carry you far in any relationship, whether at work, at home or in romantic love. He talked less about how love makes you feel, and more about what love makes you do and not do. He said that love is patient and kind and does not envy, does not boast, and is not proud. Practicing to put these characteristics into your life will go along way to prepare you for that Taurus hour. As a final thought, it may open things up if you learn what ‘the eternal gospel’ is which the angel was to proclaim to all nations.

So even if you are ‘not’ an Aries in the modern horoscope sense, the ancient astrology story of Aries is worth knowing.

Original Meaning of Aries

We saw in Capricorn that the Goat-front had died so Fishes could live. But the Band of Pisces still held the fishes. There is still a bondage to physical decay and death. We have many troubles, get old and die! Yet we have a great hope for a physical resurrection. And it is Aries who front leg extends to the band of Pisces that reveals how this will be achieved. For an amazing thing happened to that Goat (Capricorn) that had died. The Injil describes it in this way:

Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
    and with your blood you purchased for God
    persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
    and they will reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
    to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
    and honor and glory and praise!”
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
    be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Revelation 5:6-14

Aries – The Lamb Alive!

The marvelous news – planned from the beginning of human history – was that the Lamb, though he had been slain, had come alive again.  Who was the lamb slain?  The Prophet Yahya, thinking back to the sacrifice of Ibrahim, said of Isa al Masih

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

The Prophet Isa al Masih rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion.  Forty days later, after spending alot of time with his disciple, the Injil says he ascended into heaven.  The Lamb is alive and in heaven – just the constellation Aries declares and as the vision the apostle John recorded for us.

Later in this same vision John saw:

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9-10)

These are the multitudes, symbolized with the fishes of Pisces, that have come to the Lamb.  But now the bands of decay and death have been broken.  Aries has broken the bands holding the fishes of Pisces.  They have received the fullness of salvation and eternal life. 

Your Aries Horoscope Reading from the Ancient Zodiac

‘Horoscope’ is based on the Greek word ‘Horo’ (hour) and the Prophetic writings mark many important hours, so we have been reading the crucial Virgo to Pisces ‘hours’ in the writings.  But it is the other Greek word in Horoscope – skopus (σκοπός) – which brings out the Aries reading.  Skopus means to look at, think about or consider.  Aries is the Zodiac Sign of the eternal Lamb of God so there is no definitive time period to focus on, but it is the Ram himself we are urged to consider.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking (Skopus) to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
    by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:3-11)

There is no hour limiting Aries the Ram.  But the Ram has gone through distinct degrees of glory.  We first see him in the very nature (or form) of God.  But he planned even from the beginning to be a servant by becoming a human and die.  This descent to ‘human likeness’ was announced with Virgo and Capricorn expressed his obedience to death.  But death was not the end – it could not hold him and now the Ram is exalted in heaven, alive and in charge.  It is from this high authority and power that the Ram executes the final unit of the Zodiac, beginning with Taurus.  No longer the servant, He is preparing to come in Judgment to vanquish his enemy, as Sagittarius of the ancient Zodiac story predicts.

Aries declares that the brightness of morning comes after the dark night.  Life has a way of bringing the dark night to you.  You might be tempted to give up, quit or settle for something less than what you were made for.  To find the resilience to keep on going you need to look past your circumstances and situation.  You need to see your ultimate destiny.  You do so by scoping out Aries.  If you belong to Aries you will ride on his coattails and he is at the highest place and he will take you there with him.  For if, while you were God’s enemy, your relationship with him was restored through the Capricorn sacrifice, how much more, now being compatible with Him, will you be saved through Aries’ life?  It is just that you have to follow his path, and his path went down before it went up – so yours will have to as well. How to keep going? Rejoice in Aries’ life always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident in all your relationships. Aries is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, bring your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which goes beyond your understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in The Ram.   Finally, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

The Return of the Lamb

This closes the second unit of the ancient zodiac story.  This unit focused on the benefits given to those who receive the fruits of the victory of Isa al Masih (The Lamb).  Why not receive his gift of life?

The third and final unit, chapters 9-12 of the Zodiac Story, focus on what happens when Aries the Ram returns again – as he promised he would.  This is declared in that same vision that John saw of the Lamb when he saw:

They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! (Revelation 6:16)

Pisces in the Ancient Zodiac

Pisces is the seventh constellation of the Zodiac and is the third Sign in the Zodiac Unit that reveal the results for us of the victory of the Coming One.  Pisces is the image of two fishes bound together by a long band. But this was not its original meaning for the earliest humans. In fact, even if we connect the stars in ‘Pisces’ with lines it is still hard to ‘see’ any such image.  How could early astrologers think up two fishes bound together from these stars?

But this sign goes back as far as we know in human history.  Here is the zodiac in the Dendera Temple of Egypt, more than 2000 years old.  The image of the two fishes of Pisces in this zodiac is circled in red. You can also see in the sketch on the side that the band binds them together.

Original Meaning of Pisces

We saw with Capricorn that the fish tail received life from the dieing head of the goat. In Aquarius we saw that the water was poured out to the Fish – Piscis Austrinus. The fish represent the multitudes who would receive the Living Water. This was foreseen back in the time of the Prophet Ibrahim PBUH when Allah promised him

all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.

Genesis 12:3

and through your seed all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me

Genesis 22:18

This vision of multitudes redeemed through the Coming Servant was divided into two groups

he says:
“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
    to restore the tribes of Jacob
    and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
    that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:6

Here the prophet spoke of the ‘tribes of Jacob’ as well as the ‘Gentiles’. These are the two fishes of Pisces. When Isa al Masih PHUH called his disciples he told them

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Matthew 4:19

The Band – Passing Bondage

The two fishes of Pisces, though with new spiritual life, are bound together by the constellation The Band. The Band holds the two fishes captive. But we see the hoof of Aries the Ram coming towards the band. It speaks of the day when the fishes will be freed by Aries.

This is the experience of all followers of Isa al Masih today. The Injil describes our present bondage to suffering, decay and death – but still looking forward to the Day when we are freed from this bondage

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

We wait for the redemption of our bodies from death. As it explains further

50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
    Where, O death, is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So The Band around the fishes of Pisces pictures our present-day situation. But we wait expectantly for the coming of Aries to set us free. This freedom from bondage to death is offered to all. In the original zodiac, Pisces was not intended to guide your daily decisions to good fortune, love and better health, based on your birth date. It was a Sign that not only would the victory of Isa al Masih grant us Living Water, but also that one day we will be released from the bondage to the decay, trouble and death that hold us captive now.

We live in the hour of Aquarius and we also live in the hour of Pisces.  Aquarius brought the water (Spirit of God) to bring life to the fishes.  But we are only in the middle of the Zodiac Story and the final Sagittarius victory is still in the future.  So we face trouble, hardship, persecution and physical death in this hour, as Isa al Masih warned us.  The bands holding the fish are real.  But even as we are held by the bands we still have life.  The Holy Spirit indwells, teaches and guides us – even in the face of death.  Welcome to the hour of Pisces.

As with all the other zodiac constellations, the image of the Water-Bearer is not obvious from the constellation itself.  It is not innate within the star constellation.  Rather, the man and the running water have been thought of beforehand, from something other than the stars, and then in astrology it has been superimposed into the constellation as an image.  But why?  What did it mean to the ancients? And why has Aquarius from ancient times been associated with The Southern Fish constellation so that the water flowing from Aquarius runs to the Fish?

The Ancient Zodiac Story

We saw, with Virgo, that the Quran and the Bible/Kitab state that the constellations themselves were made by Allah. They were given as signs in a Story to guide mankind until revelation was put in writing. Thus they were taught by Adam and his sons to their children to instruct them of Allah’s Plan. Virgo foretold the coming Son of the Virgin -the Prophet Isa al Masih PBUH. We worked our way through the Story explaining the Great Conflict and now we are in the second unit which reveals the benefits to us of His victory.

The Original Meaning of Aquarius

Aquarius told the ancients two great truths which today is wisdom for us. These truths are that we are thirsty people (symbolized by the Southern Fish drinking in the water) and that the water from The Man is the only water that will ultimately quench our thirst. These two truths were also taught in the messages of the ancient prophets.

We are Thirsty

The ancient prophets wrote about our thirst in various ways. Dawud in the Zabur expressed it like this:

As the deer pants for streams of water,
    so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
    When can I go and meet with God?

Psalm 42:1-2 (Zabur)

You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1 (Zabur)

But problems arise when we seek to satisfy this thirst with other ‘water’. The Prophet Jeremiah taught this was the root of our sin.

My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
    the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
    broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Jeremiah 2:13

The cisterns of water that we pursue are many: money, sex, pleasure, work, family, marriage, status. But these cannot satisfy and we end up still ‘thirsty’ for more. This is what Suleiman, great King known for his wisdom, experienced and wrote about. What can we do to quench our thirst?

Lasting Water to Quench our Thirst

The ancients prophets also foresaw a time when our thirst could be quenched. As far back as the Prophet Musa PBUH in Taurat looked forward to the day when:

“Water will flow from his buckets,
And his seed will be by many waters,
And his king shall be higher than Agag,
And his kingdom shall be exalted.

Numbers 24:7 (Taurat)

This was followed with the messages from the Prophet Isaiah

Behold, a king will reign righteously
And princes will rule justly.
Each will be like a refuge from the wind
And a shelter from the storm,
Like streams of water in a dry country,
Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land.

Isaiah 32:1-2

‘The poor and needy search for water,
    but there is none;
    their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the Lord will answer them;
    I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

Isaiah 41:17

How would the thirst be quenched? The Prophet continued

For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
    and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,
    and my blessing on your descendants.

Isaiah 44:3

In the Injil the Prophet Isa al Masih PBUH declared that he was the source of that Water

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

John 7: 37-39

The Injil specifies that ‘water’ is a picture of the Spirit, who came to dwell in people on Pentecost. This was the partial fulfillment, which will be finalized in the Kingdom of God as it states:

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

Revelation 22:1

Who needs water more than fish? So Aquarius is pictured pouring his water that flows to the fish Piscis Australis – The Southern Fish. This illustrates the simple truth that the victory and blessings won by the Man – the Seed of the Virgin – will certainly be received by those for whom they are intended. To receive this we need to

“Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
    and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
    and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
    listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
    my faithful love promised to David.

Isaiah 55:1-3

Your Aquarius Horoscope Reading from the Ancient Zodiac

Horoscope comes from the Greek ‘Horo’ (hour) and thus means the marking of special hours. The Prophetic writings mark the Aquarius ‘horo’.  The Aquarius reading is marked by the Prophet Isa al Masih in this manner.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” …

“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet an hour is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

John 4:13-14, 21-23

We are now in the ‘hour’ of Aquarius.  This hour is not a short specific hour as with Capricorn. Instead it is a long and wide open ‘hour’ that continues to extend from that time of that conversation until today. In this hour of Aquarius Isa al Masih offers us water that will well up to eternal life in us.

The Greek word used by the prophet two times here is hora, the same as the root in ‘horoscope’. 

You and I can apply the Aquarius horoscope reading today in the following way. 

Aquarius says ‘know thyself’.  What is it deep inside you that you thirst after?  How does this thirst show itself as the traits that those around you can see? Perhaps you are just aware of a vague thirst for ‘something more’, whether that be money, longer life, sex, marriage, romantic relationships, or better food and drink. That thirst could make you incompatible with those that are already close to you, causing frustration in any of your deeper relationships, whether that be co-workers, family members or lovers. Be careful that your thirst does not cause you to lose what you do have.  Now is a good time to ask yourself what is meant by ‘living water’.  What are its characteristics? Words like ‘eternal life’, ‘spring’, ‘spirit’ and ‘truth’ were used to describe the Aquarius offer. They bring to mind traits like ‘abundance’, ‘satisfaction’, ‘refreshing’.  This can turn around your relationships so that you are a ‘giver’ rather than just a ‘taker’.  But it all starts with knowing your thirst and being honest about what drives you.  Follow the example of the woman in this conversation and see if you can learn how she took up the offer.  A life worth living comes as you examine your heart
